Travelling Bowlers

In 1986 the Traveling Bowlers Club was formed. Its function was to organize social visits to other Bowling Clubs. The committee was....President. Max Watson SeclTreasurer. Lionel Lewis.
Their first trip away was an unofficial visit to Park Beach, Coffs Harbour. There were 22 bowlers on the mini bus and the trip proved such a success that on their return other Bowlers joined up.
The first official trip was to West Tamworth. From there they traveled away every year and in later years it was changed to twice a year allowing those to enjoy their bowls and the hospitality of the clubs visited. Some of the clubs have returned the visit to L.T.P. and have enjoyed themselves.
Over the years the club has traveled as far north as Coffs Harbour / South West Rocks .... south to Dapto / Picton... west to Dubbo / Mudgee and north west to Gunnedah / Armidale plus other clubs in between.
When away we are proud to represent our club which was established 18 years ago..Max Watson and Lionel Lewis are still members and enjoying their trips.

Amature Fishing Club

The Lemon Tree Passage Bowling Club Fishing Club came about after discussions between them Secretary Manager Dave Fanker and Bob Ninness who was on the Board of the Club at the time.
They decided to put out the feelers to see if a Fishing Club could be started and so it came to fruition with the Inaugural Meeting of the club on the 14th February 1996.
The Amateur Fishing Club went from strength to strength, providing a social atmosphere amongst local fishing fans, particularly on tuesday nights at the fantastic venue of the Bowling Club where the Fishing Club hold a raffle which helps to raise funds to support local endeavours.
The Fishing Club has over 70 members who enjoy the friendship and comraderie shared at a monthly weigh-in and BBQ in the rear garden area of the Bowling Club on the third Sunday of each month at 3.00pm (4.00pm during daylight savings). Fishing for competition weekends commences at 4.00pm on the Friday and ceases at weigh-in time on the Sunday. Some spectacula catches have been recorded.
We are enjoying an influx of new members,(welcome to each and every one of you). Remember the car rally (observation run) last year and what fun it was?. Wellwe are doing it again, only this time on water! (and in boats). There will soon be a news letter on the noticeboard with details of the event.
For further information about Fishing Club membership or any of it's activities please contact the Bowling Club.
See you at the next weigh in. Weigh in 3.00 pm Club BBQ area. The third Sunday of each month.(Fishing Club information sheets are available at Bowling Club Reception)
